Hughenden

Wander around town to see the local attractions like the historic blazed Coolibah tree and surveyors peg, meet "Mutt", a full-bodied Muttaburrasaurus replica situated in front of the former Le Grand Hotel or follow the Wirrila Comet Windmill blades through the streets of Hughenden, exploring the history and art features of the town.

 

Visit the Flinders Discovery Centre to get more information about the area and to see "Hughie", an impressive life size skeletal Muttaburrasaurus, as well as an impressive fossil collection from around the world. The Discovery Centre features different historical displays and exhibitions along the year such as Shearing the Stragglers.
 
Enjoy the serenity of Robert Gray Memorial Park, on the banks of the Flinders River, with 1.5km of Eco Walk tracks, wheelchair accessible toilets and picnic facilities. Along the pathway are species of flora and local artworks illustrating important events and the diversity of the Flinders Shire.
